Vancouver to Langley, British Columbia
Project Description
Over the course of 3 years, Ruskin installed over 200 large diameter foundation piles, both driven and drilled, for 10 structures on the new 10-lane Port Mann Bridge. Pile diameters on the structures varied from 610mm to 2438mm, with drilled shafts up to 56 metres deep. We also installed 3 sheet pile walls and placed over 5000m3 of concrete on the project.
Ruskin worked diligently throughout the contract to develop innovative ways to overcome significant challenges to our operations on the project. These challenges included extremely difficult and unpredictable soil conditions, massive subsurface boulders, the presence of an Artesian Aquifer, varying elevations, overhead power lines, working around existing highways, freeways and other structures, as well as meeting a very strict construction schedule.
